Sustainable spaces for the genesis of your ideas
Let’s Meet in an event venue that also develops innovative projects in the circular and sustainable economy
Greenbizz.brussels
is a structure and incubator dedicated to companies that develop innovative
projects in the circular and sustainable economy. Greenbizz.brussels is 8,000
m² where original and sustainable event spaces are also open, open to all
events.
We met Dorothée Wolfs, Administration & Communication Officer at
Greenbizz.brussels. She shows us this amazing place in Brussels.
BSV: Hello
Dorothée, sustainable events are on the rise, right?
Dorothée
Wolfs, Greenbizz.brussels (DW): Ah yes, most certainly! And this clearly goes
beyond the fashion phenomenon. Bringing sustainable development into the events
sector is part of the culture of Greenbizz.brussels. And both end customers and
event organizers are more and more attentive to this dimension.
BSV: And how
do you perceive this dimension on a daily basis?
DW: We talk
about it spontaneously in daily contact. Being interested in zero waste, carbon
impact or even the conditions of catering production is no longer perceived as
if we were a Martian as it could have been even 10 years ago. These are widely
shared concerns: sooner or later they will become the norm.
BSV: Indeed,
the whole MICE sector is mobilizing on this subject
DW: Perfectly
and we see practical initiatives percolating more and more. I am thinking of
the Ecodynamic Enterprise Label developed by Bruxelles Environnement or the
practical guide for eco-responsible events which has just been published by
visit.brussels.
BSV: What
events have you hosted at Greenbiz.brussels in recent months?
DW: It’s
difficult to name them all, but we, for example, welcomed UrbanWINS last April.
In June, a FoodWin conference focused on organizing a food-free event. Another
on solar energy in Belgium and Germany organized by AHK Debelux took place in
October. That said, the theme does not necessarily have to relate to
sustainable development, a morning on single parenthood brought together more
than 70 people last September and a teambuilding for Hub.brussels took place
before the holidays in December.
BSV: How high
are your reception capacities?
DW: Our
magnificent 220m² atrium can accommodate from 60 to 250 people and we offer
four modern and bright meeting rooms that can accommodate from 4 to 50 people.
We stay in events on a human scale where direct contacts are facilitated.
BSV: Tell us what are the main assets of Greenbizz.brussels
DW: Above all,
our building is exemplary and sustainable. It was rewarded with no less than
three eco labels (exemplary building, Green Key, Label Entreprise Ecodynamique)
certifying our daily efforts in terms of sustainable management.
Its
architecture is unique and perfectly communicates its exemplary and innovative
side. Our spaces are very bright and equipped with the latest equipment and
very high quality. We have selected several excellent quality sustainable
caterers to manage the catering part of the events we host. And above all, we
offer, a very good quality / price ratio.
